06/04/2011 profiling

today we were in class for one period  basically doing theory about nail guns, doing a test that we had to pass in order to get our gun licences, the test was based on when to use it, how to use it, how to use it safely etc. then after break we went into the work shop to talk about profilings, going over what we were going to do then got split into groups, we each got a dumpy level and camera, got a fair idea of how to set it up and use it, it took me a while from getting use to it but my team helped out, we headed back out side and set up our dumpy level, used it to find our finish floor level by using the datum point which will help us find the corner of the house by using the bearer lines. then at 1 o'clock, we headed off to the site to learn about the nail gun and then used it, i just found out that there are different types of nail guns but the one we used is the safest one.. i think thats what the man said, he showed us how to take it apart, how to clean it how to put it togehter , where to put in the nails, we basiclally learnt the ffeatures of the gun, later he let us fire some nails in to some timber which i enjoyed, it was a pretty cool lesson then we got marked of, later on we went back to the field to continue on with our profilings, we jus finished setting out our corners, using the string line to get a fair idea of what it wil look like which ws an rectaungular shape, then we measured it diagonally, two corners of our house was square except for the other two, we kept adjusting it till we got what we wanted and it ws sqaure thanks to marty lol, but yeah ive got a fair idea of how to use a dumpy level, how to find the datum and the finish floor level, overall it was a great excersie, havnt done it before so i leart alot today chuurr
